Subject: Reducing CNC Cost under Rising Manufacturing Pressure

Reducing CNC Cost under Rising Manufacturing Pressure Hi Spams (Ihrname),

We've been seeing quite a few changes recently in both Europe and the U.S. manufacturing market.

In Europe, energy costs are going up, so many companies are trying to reduce processes like casting and forging.
In the U.S., energy is less of an issue, but labor and overall costs are still quite high, so outsourcing is becoming more common.

Because of this, we're noticing a few clear trends:

  • More parts being made by CNC instead of casting/forging
  • More RFQs with smaller batches (50–500 pcs)
  • A stronger focus on cost control and flexibility

One interesting point is that in CNC machining, energy usually makes up less than 10% of the total cost, while most of the cost still comes from materials and labor. So compared to other processes, it’s relatively stable.

At CDR Precision Machining, we’ve been helping customers adapt to this by offering:

  • Quick quotations (within 12 hours)
  • Flexible production from small batches up to 5000+ pcs
  • Complete support (machining + heat treatment + surface finishing)

We also try to help from an engineering side. For example, in some cases, switching from 304 stainless to free-cutting materials can reduce machining difficulty (and cost) by around 30–40%.

If you have any parts you're currently sourcing or reviewing, feel free to send them over. Happy to take a look and support.

Thank you / Grazie / Dank / Merci
